Goro Studios was started when myself and Matt Lawson, my longtime business partner, recognized the general need startups had for reliable development support.

As founders of several internet startups in the late 1990's, we both had experienced the frustration of having killer concepts with readily available funding, that failed in large part because of difficulties with hiring and retaining quality development support - particularly on a fixed budget.  Let's face it, skilled developers are in high-demand, and are often request an equity stake when joining an inherently risky startup, and are prone to getting hired by another company at a higher wage at any time. And if you're not contributing enough money or other resources, they may question your ownership over the company or simply take their code and duplicate your service under a competing brand.

Outsourcing to a software development company in America can be exhorbitantly expensive, and may not be ideally suited for prototype development.  Going overseas, in addition to similar risks of losing ownership of your code, introduces the very likely possiblity that you will get poor-quality, even unusable, code that you have to get rebuilt entirely.
